The Simple Woman's Daybook

For Today.. May 25, 2009 Memorial Day

Outside my window...We have sun and beautiful clear skies.

I am thinking...today will bring, it hardly ever goes as planned.

From the learning rooms.. .we rearranged the classroom yesterday. Today we will try it out with our LLATL and spelling.

I am thankful for... all the men and their families that sacrifice everyday for our country. I am proud of my FIL and husband for the sacrifice they each gave in time of war and time of not.

From the kitchen...homemade maple syrup, fresh homemade bread
I am wearing...Khaki skirt and light blue top, I am unofficially trying to wear 7 days of skirts. It was on Bloom Where You're Planted . She has a link to the hosting site that I can't get to. I am having problems with connecting to some of the blog sites for a couple of days now.
I am going... we might go to Sam's club today. Need to go see papa today, as soon as school is done.

I am reading...pattern's have a new bag I am working on to post on Etsy. Here

I am hoping...to find more time to be in God's word then I have been.

I am creating...summer tote bags, night gowns and a purse.

I am praying ... for the men and women that are serving our country. For our countries leader's.

Around the house... I hear cereal bowls and finishing up details to the classroom. Garden is trying to make it after hubby and #1 son pumped the water out yesterday. Now it is pray and watch.

One of my favorite things...my children. Everything about them I love homeschooling, I love hearing their music and watching them grow.

A few plans for the rest of the week....I am not sure. School of course and prepare for end of year evaluation.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...our week in the rain. That is my garden.

I enjoyed your daybook. Good luck with your 7 days of skirts. I have been skirts/dresses only for a couple of years now. It is amazing the difference both inward and outward that it makes.

Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting on my daybook!

Thanks for visiting my daybook! Can you believe all the rain we've received here in the sunshine state??? It's crazy!
Have a blessed week--I hope your garden recovers!

Please thank your husband and father-in-law for their service. I have a special place in my heart for the military. And good luck with your garden!

Hi Tara! Thanks for the comment on my blog about the castle cake. I got the idea from the book "Creative Cakes Anyone Can Make" by Jill Foster. The book comes with an instructional DVD that tells how she makes some of the cakes in the book. They are all very pretty and fairly easy to do.
Have a wonderful day! Ü
