The Simple Womans Day Book

FOR TODAY March 30, 2009

Outside my window... the sun is shining brightly the birds are singing I hear the duster plane over the farms, means the potatoes are getting ready for harvest

I am thinking.. of the many blessings God gives to us daily. Trying to remember he does not forsake us even when we feel forsaken. That in hard times we need to find joy in ALL THINGS. In this recession where does my faith lye? Is it in God to provide for my family's daily needs or in the economy or even in my husband? Where are our true treasures, they are up in heaven not here on earth. Will this house show my servant heart of God? Will having things lead my children to Christ? Of, course not. Our service at church has been bring these already thoughts out more. Am I really trusting in God 100%? Am I truly turning everything over to him? Do I truly have a servant heart? Or am I allowing the bitterness from this economy effect me?

I am thankful for... being in my home. My husband has provided me all the wants a SAHM who home schools 4 children could ever want.
From the learning rooms... we will be working on math and LLATL. We really want to do geography and science the fun things as my kids refer to them.

From the kitchen ...coffee is brewed.

I am wearing.... my nightgown. I am getting a steam shower when I finish this post. I woke up at 3:00 am with allergy issues and by 8:00 am my head hurt so bad I was not functioning as I should be.

I am creating... a basket like this one here.

I am going.... to strings practice today. Also to the local consignment store my eldest son keeps growing out of his clothing for some reason. I told him stop growing, but you know how teenagers listen. Truthfully he is at the huge growth spurt stage when you need to buy clothes every other week.So we are going to see if we can find some clothes for him.

I am reading...., not. I try to read but lately it has not been happening. To much actual living going on. It is that time of year when the weather is perfect for completing some of the outdoor tasks.
I am hoping.... my husband gets more jobs. He has a job this week. Praise God. This job is 2 blessings one work and 2nd a front porch for our home.

I am hearing.... children are up and surrounding me in noise
Around the house ....it is feeling homey we finally have our living room as we dreamed of it 5 yrs ago when bought a fixer house. All the walls in the house are stripped textured and painted. The missing tiles from moving a wall have been placed and are waiting for grout. The house is coming together YEAH! With much work and why did we wallpaper 5 yrs ago? Oh yes we were overwhelmed by 4 hurricanes that year, a ex owner that would not get out of our house and a house that we had to literaly gut. This piece of work had potential and had the most beautiful setting on 5 acres.

One of my favorite things ...my husband who is extremely resourceful. Can always pull a bunny out of the hat. He amazes me how he can fix just about anything.

A few plans for the rest of the week:Spend time with my christian sister and dear friend helping her with prep work for up coming company. Chip away at school work to finish up our year.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing...this is our music parlor/library (living room). We received a huge blessing with the sofas this weekend. This is what we dreamed of the finial outcome would be when we bought the house. Our dream came true.To read more Day book's or to become part of Peggy's Day book's go to http://thesimplewomansdaybook.blogspot.com/

MY AMY BUTLER FABRIC

Today my MIL surprised me with AMY BUTLER fabric. I am so excited to make something special with this fabric. I have seen some purse ideas now just to find a pattern for measurements. And to figure which fabric with which fabric. I just may need a consultation with my best friend over this decision.
Just love Amy Butler Designs....

I have been over at Angry Chicken today. Learning how to make butter, I really want to try this out.

They make it sound so easy.......

Wish I had fresh cream as some of the ladies talk about......

It will be a few days until I do get out to get cream for this project. We are looking very forward to it.

Look at what I see!!!!

I love spring! The whole idea of new life, the renewing. When you look around everything is being reborn and coming to life.
Reminds me of Jesus, raising from the tomb.
So today I stopped and looked around. This is what I saw these are a few of my favorite things.

Our new baby!

THE GARDEN!!!!!!!!!

We get to start planting tomorrow.

Time in a Bottle

How many times have you wished for time in a bottle, March 14 already. Seems a endless list of what needs to be done.

I am working on a garden this year. Also staining and painting walls and doors in the home. Hubby finally has finished some needed work to our home. Lost my black paint I was painting the classroom bookcases with... ugh...Just walked away. As we organize the more things I can not find.

Sweet sweet husband fixed the children's go cart..YES! I broke the axle couple months back as I was having fun.. Bad mommy, but I sure was having fun does that count.

So Caleb if you check in GO-Cart is ready!!!!

In between all of this work we are chipping away at school. They are doing great we finally got thru the hump with a few items, they are getting it now yeah.

I just Love teaching my 4 at home what a blessing and a joy. It feels so right..

Hopefully soon I will have pictures to post of our garden and some of the work we have done around here. The whole take download upload thing seems like another job at this moment. Soon though.

Have a great fun Saturday

I am back!!!!! YEAH!!

Oh, how I have missed blogging! I love reading blogs learning from others. Alright I am a blog addict.
Well I was gone I began to learn how to knit. Finished two scarfs and a hat. The list of scarfs and hat request are growing. I am continuing hand quilting my first all by myself quilt. What I mean by that I had noone telling me how many yards of fabric would be needed. Anyhow it came out good.

Enough for now I am goingfinger walking thru all the blogs I have been missing.
