The Simple Woman's Daybook

For today June 14, 2010

Outside my window.....
summer is here in full power. The mornings and evenings
are still wonderful to be outside.

I am thinking....
of what this past week brought and
about the week to come. This is the
last week to finish plans for VBS.

I am thankful....
for God's peace he gave my children
with this weekend as they learned
of the loss of their dog, Buddy.

I am wearing..
shorts and a sun top

I am remembering...
the day we meant Buddy. He was the most
amazing puppy. We were all taken by him.
Buddy took on the job as the protector of the children
right from the start. He loved being where ever
our family was.

I am creating...
a special quilt so far 3 block complete
I have also begun knitting a bag.

I am praying...
for my husband, work is abundant.
And is working more then he has in 1 1/2 yrs.
This is a huge praise!

From the kitchen...
Italian subs
apple wood pork roast
tacos
spaghetti

I am hoping....
work keeps going at this pace for us.

From the learning rooms...
still working on year end finishing.
Testing oldest for placement in math.

I am hearing...
tv I had on as I ironed this morning.
complete silence from the children still.

Around the house...
concentration is on school around here.
Chores in the early morning and school
afternoon is swim, read and naps.
Calmness and kindness are the goals.

One of my favorite things...
cuddling with my babies.

A few plans for the rest of the week...
sewing the quilt, school work and fireworks every Saturday.

Here is a picture I would like to share..
our Buddy, he will always be a part of our hearts.

The Simple Woman's Daybook

For today June 8, 2010

Outside my window...
sun is setting after another in the high 90's. With the
humidity it feels more like over 100.

I am thinking....
the work ahead of me tomorrow getting the classroom
back up and running.
It is all torn apart due to ripping out the
carpet and removing the cat and the kitten.
Due to my son having a asthma attack that
required a ER visit.

I am thankful....
my son is recovering nicely
with out a hospital stay this time.

I am wearing...
a nightgown, I am ready for the
day to come to a end.

I am remembering....
the winter we had and how out of the norm
the temps were. That we saw snow 1st in 20 yrs,
the temps 1st in 100 yrs. That we never thought
the cold would leave, now it is so hot already.
Did we even see spring?

I am creating...
an allergen free zone for my son.
We have been spending a lot of time in the classroom,
I think the carpet and the cat being in there
for the past 5 weeks with her kittens(we are down to only one).
Took a toll on his little lungs. Plus the Dr said the humidity
is not helping many with asthma. I had
the windows open a lot last week.

I am praying...
for our aunt, she is over at Shane's Hospital
for the next 3 days having a test performed.
I so pray they get answers, she has been having
health issues for over a year now.

From the kitchen....
eggs and grits and bacon
homemade pizza
pork chops and veggies
fried chicken legs

I am hoping....
my friend feels better soon that she
goes to the chiro tomorrow.

From the learning rooms....
Math, Language Arts, reading
we even have managed to work on
science and history this past week.
Oldest has been working on an essay,
he is required to have it for his scholarship to the

I am hearing...
the basketball playoff game.
GO CELTICS!!

Around the house....
everyone is laying quietly watching the game.
When i finish here they are off to bed. We have finally all
at the same time gotten on a schedule of getting up early.
So much more is being accomplished plus we have
even on a few days had naps. Well the children did...

One of my favorite things...
relaxing at night as a family before we go to bed.

A few plans for the rest of the week...
finish cleaning, get some school done
and relax.

Here is a picture I would like to share....
scorpion my son caught this week

prime number chart?????

About a month ago on a blog there was links to different math and home school help.
One of the links was to the neatest 100 chart of finding prime numbers.
Does anyone remember seeing this link or was it on your blog? If so I really
would love to have that link again. I thought I had book marked it but can't find it.
Thank you for any help getting back to this post I once found.

The Simple Woman's Daybook

For Today June 2, 2010

Outside my window.....
it looks like another sunny day, I really
am hoping to see the rain.

I am thinking...
about schedules and all the up
coming plans. This will be the
fullest summer we have ever had.
But it is worth every minute of it for the
the children's future.

I am thankful...
the boys did great at their audition last week.
The big day on Saturday I was talking about
was for a cello audition for my second son.
My oldest also auditioned while we there
for his viola and he is receiving a full scholarship.
We were so moved my Emily's warm welcome
and her generosity to us. She is happy to have
the boys involved in her dads dream.

I am wearing...
God's promises and His love for me

I am remembering...
a hurting wife and mom that
lost her husband this past week and is
due to have their 3rd child in 2 weeks.

I am creating....
a new quilt top. This one has to
be very special...Will take picture when
I get it together and you will
understand the specialness about it.

I am praying...
for a friends mom, who has already
 endured so much physical pain.

From the kitchen....
grilled chicken
sausage and biscuits
pancakes and bacon

I am hoping...
God keeps providing work for
my husband.

From the learning rooms....
we will be concentrating on book work
we are so close to completing math. We need some
more reading and LLATL time.

I am hearing...
daughter watching tv
while all the boys are working
on their daily chores.

Around the house...
all end of year activities are done. So now our we can
relax and slow down for a couple of weeks.

One of my favorite things...
a break from having to be some where. Being on no
schedule for at least for a couple of weeks.

A few plans this week...
relaxing and school until Saturday then we will join
others in decorator the church for VBS. I am trying to
go to sit and knit on Saturday. I might finish a project.

Here is a picture I would like to share....
3 week old kitten decided curling up with baby doll was
good place for a nap.
