Life is full of up's and down's. We don't know our timing this is the place I come to write thoughts about, Family, quilting and crafts that bring peace and mental calmness. Surviving cancer and the scars still healing. The journey that has led me to know God our father. The journey I am still on that still has trials of faith.

For Today October 26,2009
Outside my window....sun is shining with wonderful fall temps. The windows have been open for a week now even when we hit 90 last week. Love to be outside in this weather.
I am thinking....about grocery shopping there are things we are need of today. And as long as I am there I might as well pick up the weeks worth.
I am thankful for.....a restful weekend, I have been sick all week. I am regaining energy little at a time. I'd feel great if the mucus would let go of my chest.
I am wearing....my pink nightgown not moving as of yet.
I am remembering.....I need to get back into my exercise routine. I was doing so good it was beginning to pay off as I got sick.
I am going....to the store then home to rest and laundry.
I am reading.....no time as of yet, now I am working on Christmas knitting and sewing.
I am hoping....to be back to full health very soon.
On my mind.....work for hubby. One job ending praying for God to open door to next job.
From the learning rooms....math and music practice and some reading.
Noticing that.....we are moving along more smoothly in math. Just chipping away at division with my 5 grader some days are really good days and others we struggle.
Pondering the words.....patience's with others, give understanding don't be quick to judge. Life can quickly change in a blink of an eye.
From the kitchen....today country fried steak and mashed potatoes with country gravy
Tuesday...Steak and fresh veggies
Wednesday... Ravioli and cheesey garlic bread
Thursday..... Pork steak and mashed potatoes
Friday......Pizza homemade
Saturday....Enchilada
Sunday....Salisbury Steaks
And for me salads and 15 bean soup with jello. Maybe a black bean burrito on enchilada night. I am doing good with the new diet and have actually have started to notice some lose in weight.
Around the house....cleaning going on, some laundry line hung, waiting for last child to finish math so we can run to store and surprise them with a library stop.
Here is a picture from my journal....the bag is complete but I can not show you until after Christmas since it is for a very special Aunt.

A friend shared this
"How can it be a large career
to tell other people's children about arithmetic
and a small career to tell one's own children about the universe?
How can it be broad to be the same thing to everyone
and narrow to be everything to someone?
No, a woman's function is laborious
because it is gigantic,
not because it is minute."
G. K. Chesterton

For Today October 19, 2009
Outside my window...The sun is up bright and warming, feels wonderful in the sun. This weekend was definitely fall weather.
I am thinking...about things I need to schedule. Only if they straighten out my children' s insurance. Had a wonderful fellowship at church last night. I was not wanting to go was stressed out and being emotional, I am really glad I went.
I am thankful for....a wonderful husband, that I was upset with. Came home last night washed all the dishes, practiced music with the children. While I was able to regroup and rest.
I am wearing....denim capri's and t-shirt from my morning walk.
I remembering.....my child is allergic to Guinea pigs. His face and neck have huge welts right this moment. Medicine has been given and applied.
I am going....try to go by an eye place for a one of those free screenings. My one son is having trouble with reading his music. Then we have Orchestra today, the kids favorite part of the week.
I am reading....fell of the wagon again. Books is here next to me read 2 pages this week. Really would like to finish. Have so many I would like to read.
I am hoping....all goes great for my husband, today. Has to do with some new work that could lead lots of work.
On my mind.....God and how he provides for our needs. How Gods timing is everything. Looks as though we will be able to save our home. God has been providing the work we needed when we needed.
From the learning rooms....I am hearing music being practice as I do my daybook. Then we will on to math. Jon is finally getting division slowly but we are chipping away at it.
Noticing that.....I like the walking and the trampoline daily. Feeling better I can notice some weight loss. Can't wait until it is my stomach going down. The supplements are helping level out my stress and emotions. I am not crying at a drop of a pin and staying there like the world is coming to an end.
Ponder the words....don't have any today..
From the kitchen...roasted chicken with fresh veggies.
Around the house...cleaning has been done some more to do. Need to hang Missy's shelves in here closet. This week seems to be the "What will be next to break". All is well, though we can do all things through Christ.
Here is a picture from my journal..my son strumming on his cello.

I overheard
I was blown away...some middle school kids were sitting talking. One says "Who lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave?" I am thinking are you kidding everyone knows that. To my shock they didn't....My mouth opens. They inform me it is a joke that was told to them by a teacher.
What a joke.
This is a joke. Reminds me of late night tv. When they talk show host goes out on the street and ask who is the Vice president.
And 1 or none and get it right.
How can our children not know Who lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave?

The Simple Woman's Daybook
For Today October 12, 2009
Outside my Window....Another very warm day. Beautiful clear skies with white fluffy clouds.
I am thinking....about all the messy work still ahead of us. Looking to be finish before Thanksgiving
I am Thankful for....the work God has been providing. Huge blessing!
I am wearing...black leggings and oversize t-shirt with sock and sneakers. They are my work out clothes.
I am remembering.....yesterday's sermon. Makes me think of my dear friend who was there for me every single day about a year ago. Don't think I could have gotten through some of the things as easily, if God had not placed her there at that time. With God in her heart and words of blessing and reassurance of him.
I am going...it is Monday so we are off to orchestra. No earns to run before hand. So I am able to concentrate on things around the house more.
I am Reading....with all intentions well to finish my Nicholas Sparks book. I have not even opened it.
I am hoping...not to allow the construction to disrupt our school to much.
On my mind....Work, work, work..I hear the seven drawf song "Off to work we go High ho high ho....."
From the learning rooms....music, math and real living. My kids will be able to build their own homes by the time they graduate.
Noticing that....The days are changing even if the weather is not.
Pondering the words....of yesterday. The ways to end up in the "pit". God is always there with his hand out reached to us. What pastor was preaching on was were I have been. The pit of despair, having to find my praise through all the trials. Praise him all the time. Found even in the worst times, there would be something to praise.
From the kitchen....two fresh loaves of bread, fresh brownies and sloppy Joes are planned for dinner.
Around the house...Poppy was moved into her new room which needs to painted from boy to girl just for her. Then hang all little pretties.
One of my favorite things....having room to walk thru the house with out feeling like a maze.
From my picture journal.
A picture, not the best, but of our living room with the fireplace gone from the middle. Husband is talking a skylight. I am so excited be able to see and hear rain. Have much more need light.
It is all open now, as you can tell there is much work left to be done.
Thank you Peggy for hosting this every week.

Not Botox...
My poor baby, woke up with his whole face just all swollen. Last night it began with welts and hives.
Went to Dr. found his chest is all tight.
He is on meds, Dr. believes he is reacting to something just not sure. Nothing has changed in his diet or routine.
Swelling is down but he looks terrible, pale and sunken eyes.
We are done with our week so rest is on our calendar
Will update in a couple of days.

"Thank you for all prayers"
To our Surprise...
Our back porch visitor. No one noticed until I let out a yell. My son was right there next to it turning on a porch light for me.

For today... Monday October 5, 2009
Outside my window.....It very humid today, fall weather only teased us this past week. Looks as though it will be another hot day.
I am thinking....about a couple of my friends, parents both went under a medical procedure. The outcome on both was much better then thought at first. What a blessing!
I am thankful....all the many blessings from God. My husband and I look around in all the trials we are going through and see his hand taking care of us.
I am wearing.....my walking clothes, will change for Orchestra in a bit.
I am remembering.....Philippians 4: 6-7 Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God which passth all understanding. Shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
I am going...to take my children to orchestra today
I am reading...trying to finish a Nicholas Sparks book "The Guardian".
I am hoping....for another great week, to stay positive and calm.
On my mind...my lifestyle change and how much better I feel.
From the learning rooms....today will be math, reading and music.
Noticing that....I am feeling much calmer after adding a couple of supplements to my daily diet.
Pondering these words......
From the kitchen....thinking about a breakfast dinner. Pancakes or waffles with bacon.
Around the house.....work is continuing on the room renovation. Boys are moved and finished. Now on to peeling wallpaper in the room to be Poppies. We are taking a break for a few days to concentrate on school then we will get back into the work.
One of my favorite things.....when my children are getting along together. The other night Poppy decided her brother was just the best guy around. She says very proudly "he is my big brother and I want to eat next to him." This was huge if you only new which brother she was referring too. As I type the same two are laying on the floor together playing with the light brite very nicely.
From my picture journal...this is the butterfly cake the kids and I made for Madison last week.
