The Simple Woman's Daybook

For today September 28, 2009

Outside my window....the sun is rising. It is cooler this morning with dew covering the ground.

I am thinking.... of my neice today she turns 10.
I am thankful for....a husband that cares about me and is doing things to help me feel better, health wise.

I am wearing....black leggings, t-shirt, and ankle socks. Just took off the sneakers from working out.
I am remembering.... Ten years ago today we almost lost Arla, my sil and her unborn baby, Madison. Praise God she had an awesome Dr. Today Madison will celebrate her 10th birthday. Today is also Papa's birthday, I hear they are going to breakfeast together.

I am going....to run a cake to my neice then take all 4 young'ins to Orchestra. If time stop in to the health food store.

I am reading....nothing at the moment, wish I was though.

I am hoping....to sleep tonight. I only slept 4 hrs last night. Not feeling it so far hopefully I won't later when it counts.

On my mind....eating right, more healthy. Drinking water, I don't drink enough or eat enough and especially the right foods. This is a lifestyle change not a diet. But one of the benefits is weight lose. I so hope so, tired of being tired and heavy.
From the learning rooms....organizing, music, and learning of doing for others.
Noticing that....I am enjoying my morning walk. It is quiet and peaceful.
Pondering these words......"finding yourself", not sure what to find. I have the things I have always wanted and imagined. I just don't always have time to do things I would like to do instead of being the teacher, nurse, therepist, chef, housekeeper, seceratary, research assitant and dry cleaner.

From the kitchen....not to sure still thinking on dinner for tonight. Had grilled cheese and soup.

Around the house....I began this post this morning, it is now 9:16 pm. Hoping to get a good night sleep. Children are all sound asleep.
One of my favorite things....seeing my oldest son growing into a young man.
From my picture journal....our family (L-R) Our 1st born son, Papa, 3rd born son, Daddy, 2nd born son, and Mimi.

The Simple Woman's Daybook

For Today Tuesday September 22, 2009
Outside my Window...the sun is shining bright and hot. It is going to be in the 90's they say. Hard to believe it is fall.
I am Thinking....of peace, organization and cooperation. Some days it flows perfectly other days it feels like I will never grasp it again.
I am Thankful for...forgiveness, twice now we have had a missing important shirt. Twice I have called the grandparents since the kids believe they left it there. Twice the silly shirt finally showed up as I am folding laundry out of the dryer. I am beginning to think I am losing it. I looked in the laundry!
I am wearing...my nightgown putting off getting dressed until I must. Then I will wear my new outfit Aunt Mary gave me for my birthday.
I am remembering.....my niece is turning 10 on Monday and she asked me to make her a cake. That meant a lot. So we are making her a special cake. Can't tell yet, I will post a picture after she gets to see it herself. I am sure she will be pleased.
I am creating....I have to many project's going on at on time. trying to concentrate on the Christmas ones right now.
I am going.....to Kingdom Kids, it is children's choir but it is more than a choir the have bible memory and missions. Really a great program.
I am hoping...that my niece and nephew can join us on Tuesday's for Kingdom Kids.
On my mind....school, how can I get my son to understand division?
From the learning rooms....math, reading and music.
Noticing that....things are getting completed just at a slow steady pace.
Pondering these words....Trust-in HIS timing
Rely-on HIS Promises
Wait-for HIS answers
Believe-in HIS miracles
Rejoice-in HIS goodness
Relax-in HIS presence
These are lessons my family has been learning for the past year. We have seen His promises kept and His miracles best of all His goodness. We are learning His timing is everything.
From the kitchen....steak for the hard working man and hamburgers for the kids and myself.
both are quick since we are out until dinner time.
Around the House...kitchen is clean, the house needs vacuumed and school is being worked on.
One of my favorite things....windows open with a freeze clean breeze blowing threw. Soon hopefully this will happen.
A few plans for the rest of the week...orchestra and school. Soon we will be moving some bedrooms around, need paint for one.
From my picture journal..
Poppy at her first violin lesson with the orchestra

I Love Birthday presents....

Especially when they are for ME,

Tomorrow is my birthday, and to my surprise my family came over today with presents and cake.

I was surprised! These to me are the best, being remembered without asking.

I forgot to take a picture of my family and the cake, but I did take picture of my presents for you to see.....

They are all perfect...

This wonderful outfit was from Aunt Mary, she has great taste and is the best shopper for clothes. I have wanted a pair a white capri's for awhile now. The top has a flattering scalloped cut.

Arla my sister gave me this book and all the fabric and the batting to make this heart shaped quilt. I have drooled so much over this quilt ever since the very first time I saw it. I was so surprised to receive this gift. I am excited I love this quilt.

Here is a closer look at the fabric. So country and romantic. I am itching to cut into them.

My sweet sweet niece. She has her birthday one week after me. She will be Ten this year.

She asked me to teach her to crochet, way back.

We don't get alot of time. She has practiced and practiced and practiced .

Today she gave me something she made for me! How awesome....

Thank you Madison, Aunt Tara will treasure for ever.

Mom, knows I love full aprons. Last one mom gave me was a pooh bear and I wore it out. Now I have this sweet lady feminine lovely apron. Adored with the proper jewelry, spatula, veggie scrubber and a scrubber. Also included was some flat quarters, have not figured out what to make as of yet, with them. I like the yellow and blue together french country look. I was thinking of a new purse.

I am so blessed by having a family that loves and cares for each other. Thank you for coming and spending today with me.

Friday Funnies

I have looked around to find a funny that would have everyone rolling.

In our house most of the time it is my 8 yr old. He comes up with some crazy off the wall things.

I am not sure where it comes from, since we are a TV free home. The kids on occasions get to play the PS2 or watch a movie.

When he was a baby he would imitate sounds, perfectly!

Recently the things he likes to say and I am sure I am missing many,

calling me; "Sweet lips","Babe","Big Mama".

Here are some of his lines..

Call him to come back, his response is "baby come back"

"How u do'in"

"You got it babe"

"scientist don't have to do school work and I am one"

"Hi I am Bob" not sure what this means.

I said "stupid", over something the other day, I hear "rated R language" from the other room.

He loves a reaction and loves to make his momma laugh.

Here is a picture of my comical keep me on my toes Pooh Bear.

Another one down

These were for my youngest. But it seems she took a sprout when I wasn't looking.
So on to another pair for her. These will be a nice Christmas present for a very special neice.
I can almost make these babies now with out the pattern.
