King quilt finished!

I did it!
I actually finished up the king size quilt yesterday as I planned.
Washed and dried the quilt last night so that first thing this morning
my bed could be adorned with it's beauty.
Was a very productive day.
School was completed before I could play.
Amazing how much you can get done when you
have a reward waiting for you.

Can't wait to cuddle with it tonight.

The Simple Woman's Daybook

For today March 30, 2010

Outside my window...
the sun is about half risen. It's ray's are so beautiful coming
through the trees, as they cast in the window it reminds me
of God's awesomeness.

I am thinking...
of the projects I would like to have done today.

I am thankful for...
for all the ladies that ministered to our aunt this week
My daughter, Mil and I spent Sunday with her, glad I did she
needs more visitors then just mom.

I am wearing...
faith in our Lord, he has promised to
provide for our needs.

I am remembering....
the small things that I don't see as important
can be to my children.

I am creating...
I am hoping to finish the King size quilt today or at least this week.

I am going...
nowhere!!!! The school system is on spring break
Which means no orchestra or choir. Also means
lots of catch up in our home school. Love it.....

I am hoping and praying....
for several of my friends, who are all mom's of young children
that are either going through chemo or are about to begin.

Continuing prayer for my husbands business to pick up more work.

From the learning rooms...
of course math and the LLATL
but we are also paying more attention to science and history.

I am hearing...
the boys out in the kitchen eating breakfast, baby is
not awake as of yet. This could be a good thing.

From the kitchen....
 Tonight sloppy joe's and steak
Wednesday Taco salad and nachos
Thursday homemade Pizza
Friday Hamburger and Hot Dogs
Saturday cincinnati chili

Around the house...
minor picking up, dishes needing to be put away.
Easter egg coloring
Everyone is feeling better, except hubby who is still
struggling with the pine pollen.

One of my favorite things...
hubby working

a few plans for the rest of the week...
tomorrow the children and I are getting together
with a friend around the corner. Nathan will get to try his hand at fishing
in their pond.
We have talked some about going to St Augustine.
Sunday is Resurrection Day. We will go down to mom's
after church for the children to play and have a egg hunt and a cook out.

Here is a picture thought...
one project finished

two others in the works

Thank you Peggy for the time to reflect each week on our life.
Also for reminding simple is worth so much more then anything else.

The temp has dropped again here in Florida
will spring come ever come to stay. The sun is out and beautifully bright,
so the hope for warmth is there.

I am thankful...
for my wonderful church that is stepping up
to help out our Aunt. It breaks my heart that my Aunt's church
has dropped the ball at a time when Christian fellowship
is greatly needed.

I am thinking...
how God has opened many doors of service towards others
us friends where there for us last year.

I am wearing...
a blog friend last week had me laughing but also thinking
about this. So here is the new answer
Humble heart for servicing others.

I am remembering...
my husband told me to look up something and I haven't done it yet.
oops as soon as I done here I need to get it done.

I am creating...
a knitted bag, sandwiching a quilt as soon as I decide on a backing.

I am going to...
children's choir other then that nothing until tomorrow

When the children are away....

Mommy spends her free time working on ....

king size quilt for my bed....

Have talked about making a king size why to long. So this week end while I was lost with out children.
I reverted back to the Navy wife days, and dove into my sewing. I am going to
attempt machine quilting on this one. Straight stitch nothing fancy.
I could do it by hand they way I am planning the stitching but I don't want to wait
for it to be on my bed.

The more quilts I make the more I want to make. Each one comes out better then the previous.
My husband is funny he always looks for the imperfection.
He had to really look hard on this one, he says it gives it the home made look.

Already planning the next..

Thankful for Mr.  Micheal Miller who came over from Orlando
to help our children thru this difficult performance.
He was a blessing to all the families.

I am thinking...
about our home as I am typing, hubby is on with the mortgage company.
God 's hands are all over our home, and he has displayed
his mercy and grace to us again today.

Jonathan May Concert 3/15/2010

The children just finished their second concert performance of the year. This performance was named in honor for our friend and teacher  Jonathan May, who we lost just 2 weeks ago. All the children did fabulous tonight in spite of the very noticeable absence of Mr. May. There was a few tears, but much laughter as we all joined in this celebration of music.....The advanced orchestra closed the night with Kashmir by Led Zeppelin...Mr. May loved rock and roll and showing the children how orchestra music is not all about classical music.

Marissa and her friend Emma on stage preparing to begin.

Jonathan and his cello

Was fun trying to get a picture of Collin he is here playing viola

Took me a while before I found Nathan preparing to play his violin.

They all sounded so wonderful. They really played for Mr.May tonight....
