Simple Womans Daybook

For Today Tuesday, August 18,2009

Outside my window....the sun is beginning to set. Some dark clouds are passing by quickly.

I am thinking....it is so nice to be a blessing to others.

I am thankful for...the opportunity I have had this month to serve on the servant hearts team. Give such joy to be able to give to others.

From the learning rooms...not sure what happened today but we lost our plan.

From the kitchen...Chicken and dumplings, fresh made bread and chocolate chip cookies

I am wearing...long denim skirt and gray tank top with bare feet.

I am creating....Roo's dress I have not had much time to sew so it is getting down slowly.

I am going....to finish this up and go back to sewing Roo's dress.

I am reading... there is no reading going on outside of teaching.

I am hoping...God leads us soon, it has been almost 2 years since are struggle began. Amazing also a blessing that we are still in our home. The stress of not knowing where we will end up here or somewhere else gets to both of my husband and I at times. That is when we just want to quit and shut down.

I am praying...for my husband.

I am hearing....a movie in the background the kids are watching I am suppose to be also. But I wanted to get my daybook done well I had a second.

Around the house....a few things are out of place due to a new piano arrival. It was given to us for the kids music.

One of my favorite things.....I like this one it makes me think of all the things I take for granted. This week I am going to say dark chocolate and Bottle Caps.

A few plans for the rest of the week...church Wednesday night, school lessons and sewing. A banquet on Thursday night for Breast Cancer.

Here is a picture thought I would like to share with you.... this is a quilt I really would like to make. I am so in love with this quilt.

Thank you Peggy for the weekly reminder of life's simplicity. If you would like to take part or read more daybook's please visit Peggy at The Simple Woman's Daybooks.

The Simple Woman's Daybook

For Today August 10,2009

Outside my window.....I can tell even with the coverings on the windows due the sun just pounding in, that it is another very warm day. Yesterday it rained a few streets over but not here. I do pray we get some rain today, I have some plants that were just transplanted.

I am thinking....I really need to call my SIL today. Not good to call her until later in the day so alot of times life runs away and the call is left undone.

I am thankful for...Jesus, he died for Tara. Ever stop to think about his suffering and pain. Yesterday in church I did. I do not want to go through the pain and suffering he went through. My suffering does not even compare. Why are we not more happy in the Lord?

From the learning rooms....we have are evaluation at the end of the month. We are already moving on with our studies. Daily math, geography and of course reading. Our science is growing nicely. I looked at it Saturday wow. Don't thing kids have checked it lately amazing how mold grows more unwatched.

From the kitchen...right now a good cup coffee, working on waking up. We may have club sandwhiches and soup for dinner. Just a simple dinner to finish off a day that I do not want to feel rushed around by. I want to brouse and linger today.

I am wearing...a nightgown I forgot I had, it is satin and long and great for summer.

I am creating... samethings, will they ever I finish them, yes. If not before violin they sure will when violin begins at least the sock. The black dress, I am taking my time since I want it perfect.

I am going...out today to brouse and stroll about. I need to stretch the legs, today is the day since I do have a couple of earns to run.

I am reading...this is low on the to do list...

I am hoping....we will not have to move

I am praying....for a miracle, God can provide it.

I am hearing...silence accept when my daughter says something to me. She is the first up for the day. Boys I am letting sleep they were very tired from playing with the cousins this weekend.

Around the house...hubby moved a couple things in my classroom to bring in his desk from his office. It is just to hot out in his office. I feel unsettled again with the moving of the tables and haven't figured their postioning yet.

One of my favorite things....cooperation, and how well a house can run when you have it.

A few plans for the rest of the week...Mail a thank you card to a dear and a wonderful couple from church. I went to be a blessing to them, and they ended up blessing a need I had. Teaching school and maybe a day to deep clean the house. It is feeling the need to be done.

Here is a picture thought I would like to share with you....my MIL at Easter with her 8 grandchildren. This week is her birthday, a big one.

Thank you Peggy for the weekly reminder life is simple, you can keep it simple. It is all in what you decide to live. If you would like to take part or read more daybook's please visit Peggy at The Simple Woman's Daybooks.

God put's you where he wants you

Yesterday I went to Ikea, (first time ever). What a neat store.
It started like this,
It was mentioned last week, about going to Ikea when talking with a friend. She wanted help picking out window blinds.
OK sure.
Not to sure how serious she is about my help. Put it on the back burner
So Wednesday she calls and wants to know if I can go Thursday or Friday.
Oh boy, I just spent the last of my funds.
I just made plans with my MIL.
Sure if you don't mind 4 kids.
you know how your head begins to spin, you try to get the thoughts in order to shift tracks. You know since I put this on the back burner and didn't give it another thought)

So I quickly say "Sure let me talk to Matt". ( my husband). Thinking he can be the bad guy (again). He surprises me and says shift your schedule. Go tomorrow you have gas. ((this is in my head) I do? OK if you say so...)

Now do not get me wrong I am ready for a road trip (big time). But it always comes back to money for me anymore.

Then I tell him she asked about eating at Ikea (money for me again). He does a um sound and I start telling him the info he needs to make the decision on if I can or not. We hang up with out me having an answer over everything. But I call her back and say sure let's do it tomorrow.(Thursday)
That morning as I am leaving my wonderful husband hands me money for gas and lunch.
As always he takes care of me.
But just in case I was still spinning my wheels in my head how to make it all work with the little money I had, which I was using to buy the kids school books.
(he knows I do this so he likes to play with me by waiting until I am getting in the car)
Thank you honey!
So I put gas in the car and still worried about the day's cost..I finally say oh well what comes comes.
Had great drive kids love road trips they were all excited to see there friends. (did I mention the trip takes 1 1/2 hrs)
We finally get to Ikea can't see it behind the mall so I drove by it and around....... it.
As, I make the run to the bathroom (since I didn't stop anywhere and drank coffee the whole way over). Why do I do this to my self?
Come out and she tells me "Guess what?" "What" I say. "Until August 16 the kids under 12 eat free." she says.
"what!" Yes this is great!
That means all mine but 1 eat free!

I am liking this. I fed all 5 of us on 10 dollars.
My next blessing;
While we are shopping I find a easel chalk board/white board, wood framed at a very very good price. It has place for a paper roll (which is great for school, map making for us)

I just priced white boards without the easel or chalk board
They are pricey and I still needed a easel to hold the board.

Wow I need this. This will be perfect. I knew if I left with out, I would regret it. So here it is in my classroom looking really nice, by the way.
It sits right next to the teachers chair ready for our next lesson.

I come home tell hubby all about the day, and he says "You were where God wanted you today."
Have no idea way that didn't cross my mine. But he was right, God had me right where he wanted me that day.
God took care of my worries, he provided for the needs I had. He fixed it so I was not stressed about how I was going to the store today and then be able to get over to a church family home this weekend to drop a meal.
I followed with out questioning the why. I did worry a bit over money God showed again believe in me I will take care of you.
We are now off to our grocery shopping

The Simplw Womans Daybook

For Today August 3,2009

Outside my window... The sun is getting ready to go down into a sunset. The heat of the day is beginning to cool down.

I am thinking....don't really want to think. My feelings are getting the best of me the last couple of days.

From the learning rooms....we worked on geography with Beautiful feet. Kids are loving the maps and mom is reading to them. Daily we have a math lessons and reading time. Some days we throw in penmanship or science. We are waiting for our mold to grow.

I am thankful for...that God has opened a door where I can serve for him.

From the Kitchen... Black beans and rice with sausage. It is very filling.

I am wearing.... A pink and yellow floral skirt and a pink tank top.

I am reading... I am not reading anything. I just can't get myself right minded on anything of late.

I am hoping....things will turn around soon with the economy and for my husband.

I am creating...I am still working on the same black dress and sock. I did actually work on them both last night.

I am praying...I am still praying for our home. That God will guide my husband where he needs to be and needs to do for his family.

Around the house... I am surrounded by everyone. Hubby and the oldest just finished the kitchen floor scrub they do every couple of months. The other two are on the playstation and baby girl playing by herself quitely.

One of my favorite things....pink. I saw on a blog where she decorates with pink Victorian looks so feminine.

Few plans for the rest of the week...school of course, grocery shopping on Friday. Fixing homemade soup, fresh baked bread and jello for family at church. Taking it over to them with the kids to visit.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you..
