The Simple Woman's Daybook

For today April 20, 2010

Outside my window...
Bird's singing, flower's blooming just love spring

I am thinking..
about school work

I am thankful...
for healthy children that we only deal with minor things
such a ear infection here and there.

I am wearing...
trust- God's Promise

I am remembering...
everything has a season. Some seasons stay longer then others

I am creating...
another scarf. Finished the one and delivered
it today to the special young lady.
Have not worked on my quilt in a few weeks. Soon I will get back to it.

I am going..
with hubby tomorrow so the children and I can get to
Children choir.

I am hoping and praying...
for work very soon for my husband.

From the learning rooms...
Orchestra, bible, math and reading.

I am hearing...
local news on the tv

From the kitchen..
Steaks tonight rest of the week is unplanned
day by day right now.

Around the house..
laundry and some picking up
dishes put away. The same daily morning chores.

One of my favorite things...
Seeing and being able to recognize
the blessings we receive along with the trials and the many challenges
we have been facing what seems to be none stop

A few plans for the rest of the week....
orchestra, grocery shopping and school

Here is a picture I would like to share...
hubby fixed this for a friend. Was out test driving
Looks more like he was having a whole lot of fun.
Thank you Peggy for hosting this weekly reminder how simple life really is.

Blessings to you and your family,

The Simple Woman's Daybook

For today April 13, 2010

Outside my window....
beautiful spring morning with signs of a shower last night.

I am thinking...
of school work

I am thankful....
this wonderful weather. I so love this time of year.

I am wearing...
Faith - God will provide

I am remembering...
memorizing bible verses should be a priority
right along with math and the other schooling.

I am creating...
almost done with the scarf just 2 more
to finish before end of May.

I am going..
to concentrate on school today then off to children's choir.

I am hoping and praying...
for young mom having surgery this week due to cancer.

From the learning rooms..
bible verse memory, The wonder books for choir.
Math, spelling and LLATL which includes reading this week.

I am hearing...
dish being put away by two boys
Marissa is practicing her violin, this is such a blessing. She has a
new teacher and the change has been awesome.

From the kitchen...
this week we really have no plans for meals
sounds terrible I know but there is a reason.

Around the house...
farm animals have been feed, kitchen work done, some school has
begun. Time to wrap up the computer and move on in school and the
laundry which is a consent daily event.

One of my favorite things...
Our bike riding together with daddy.
I just love when we doing things with
daddy being a part of it with us.

A few plans for the rest of the week...
Orchestra classes, pray grocery shopping soon, keeping it simple with enjoying
the wonderful weather outside.

Here is a picture thought...
Nathan is my bike trickster that fell last week.
He rides with a flower just about every bike ride, it is
Mommies flower. He picks me a new flower every ride.

Thank you Peggy for hosting this weekly reminder how simple life really is.

Thank you for visiting,
Blessings to you and your family,

The Simple Woman's Daybook

For today April 6, 2010

Outside my window...
The air is crisp the sun is shining. Sun just reached the
tops of the trees as it raises this morning.

I am thinking...
about the scare we all received last night
on our bike ride.

I am thankful..
God's protection and my children's very quick response.

I am wearing..
Our Lord's forgiveness.

I am remembering..
the Fruits of the Spirit
How important they are daily in our lives.

I am creating...
another scarf, I have 3 I need to make.
I am still working on the lap quilt.

I am going...
to get the children and myself moving very shortly.

I am hoping and praying...
for all the young mom's dealing with cancer.
Some are just beginning the journey.

From the learning rooms...
we are chipping away at the normal books.
Marissa just finished up her blue LLATL book and has moved into
the red LLATL. She says "I am a big girl now".
Biggest lesson for my children this year is learning God's lessons.
He has a plan and he will take care of you.

I am hearing...
it is quite, a fans hum, my husband sleeping and
Pipper ( our Quaker parrot) he is ringing his bell.
He wants someone to come say hello to him.

From the kitchen...
I have no plans
it is grocery shopping time and right now
so tonight and tomorrow will be what is in the freezer
or pantry. Hopefully by Thursday we can go do the shopping.

Around the house...
dishes need to be done, family animals feed and
laundry maintained. Other then that we will be doing school this morning.

One of my favorite things...
our bike rides every evening, we are doing it as a family.

A few plans for the rest of the week....
Children's choir today with a meeting before hand.
Orchestra on Wednesday hopefully grocery shopping Thursday.

Here is a picture thought...
took this picture on Sunday. I just love how it reminds my of Jesus.
Thank you Peggy for the time to reflect each week on our life.
Also for reminding simple is worth so much more then anything else.

Peace- Jennifer Knapp

Lord has his wonderful timing last week to use this song to speak to me.
I needed him close to me as I learned of another friend with cancer.
May it now speak to you also,

Pictures of our Tradition

Begin 14 yrs ago every Easter we have a cook out and egg hunt. As the children grow older things are changing, scavenger hunts in place of eggs and more games for the children to enjoy.
The one thing that will never change is wanting to enjoy the day with family.
A tradition was born and the children share how much it means to them.

Nathan's version of a sack race.

Anyone ready for sand cake for dessert?

Collin just relaxing and enjoying the day.

Collin with his best friend, his Papa.

Jon and dad preparing for fishing.

Aunt Mary enjoying the family.

Mimi having a afternoon full of grandchildren.

My man!

Friendly Pelican joining us in fishing.

At one time we say 3 Pelicans.

Diving for a fish, the splash is huge and loud.

Picture speaks to me of a reminder that is Resurrection Sunday!
(this will the picture on my daybook)

as the sun begins to settle

We saw a 8' alligator in the lake. No swimming for us.....

The day is good we had each other......

Thank you stopping by and being a part of our day.
